Our Members and the Work We Do
We are a coalition of DC based faith and community based organizations and individual partners working together to educate the community of the effects and the harm of tobacco and second hand smoke. The Coalition is composed of three Executive Officers, the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and four committee chairs, which include: Program, Advocacy and Policy, Marketing Communications and Sustainability.
We assist all DCTFC partners in planning, coordinating, designing and executing programs, projects and interventions that eliminate exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, prevent youth initiation, promote smoking cessation, and identify and eliminate disparities among specific populations. We work to build partnerships representing the diverse populations residing in the District of Columbia and to heighten awareness of the dangers of tobacco use through education. Collectively and collaboratively, we advocate for Tobacco Settlement funds to be used for funding tobacco control in the District.
