DCTFC funds a comprehensive media campaign that includes TV, radio, mass transit ads, and print materials to promote our free quitline, to encourage youth to remain tobacco free, and to educate caregivers, including parents, on the importance of keeping children in smoke free homes and cars.  In 2008, DCTFC won seven national media awards, including two prestigious Addy awards for the Latino Campaign.

See our latest youth prevention video program, “Nasty,” written and performed by former Denver Broncos player, Steve Fitzhugh. This 5 1/2 – minute educational video is designed to educate youth about how the tobacco industry targets them as replacement smokers. “Nasty” features students and alumni from Anacostia High School.
