DC CALLS IT QUITS WEEK 2026

September 21 - 25, 2026

Every quit story is a reminder that change is possible.

Each year, DC Calls It Quits Week brings together people across Washington, DC to celebrate those who have quit tobacco, recognize the family members, healthcare providers, advocates, and community organizations who support them, and inspire others to take the first step toward a tobacco-free life.

This year's theme, A Tobacco-Free Generation: Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future, celebrates the progress we've made in reducing tobacco use while recognizing that every quit journey, every community partnership, and every policy victory brings us closer to a healthier future for the next generation.

Throughout the week, we'll share inspiring stories from people who have quit, highlight community events and local partners, and bring advocates, healthcare professionals, educators, and policymakers together at the DC Calls It Quits Summit to continue building momentum toward a tobacco-free generation.

Whether you're celebrating your own quit journey, supporting someone you love, joining one of our community events, or simply learning more about tobacco prevention, we invite you to be part of this year's campaign.

Together, we can build a tobacco-free generation.
