DC Calls It Quits Week Theme: A Tobacco-Free Generation: Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future
Dates: Monday, September 21 - Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Thank you for supporting DC Calls It Quits Week 2026. This annual campaign brings together organizations, advocates, healthcare professionals, educators, policymakers, and community members across Washington, DC to celebrate progress in tobacco prevention, recognize the partnerships that have brought us this far, and inspire continued action toward a tobacco-free generation.
This year's theme—A Tobacco-Free Generation: Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future—invites us to reflect on the history of tobacco prevention in our city while imagining a future where every child grows up free from the harms of commercial tobacco and nicotine addiction.KEY CAMPAIGN DATES
Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Registration for the DC Calls It Quits Summit event officially opens.
Monday, September 14, 2026. Registration for the DC Calls It Quits Summit event officially closes.
Monday, September 21, 2026. DC Calls It Quits Week begins.
Thursday, September 24, 2026. The Coalition hosts the 2026 DC Calls It Quits Summit
Friday, September 25, 2026. Celebrate the week by sharing your stories, photos, and highlights
Saturday, September 26. Keep the momentum going! Attend or host a community event, continue sharing your stories, and celebrate the progress we're making toward a tobacco-free future.
Sunday, September 27, 2026. As DC Calls It Quits Week comes to a close, we invite faith communities, families, and neighbors to reflect on the importance of health, hope, and supporting one another in building a tobacco-free generation.
